Expertise

Endocrinology and Metabolism

My primary goal is to study the roles of oxidative stress and micronutrients in the pathophysiology of obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. We are exploring how micronutrients (L-cysteine and Vitamin D) and H2S alter insulin signalling pathways of glucose metabolism in T2DM. My lab is vested in identifying novel therapies and discovering the molecular signaling pathways responsible for metabolic syndrome induced cardiac dysfunction for therapeutic intervention.
